So much energy is flowing, unfolding, and arriving at this time as our planet ascends and evolves toward a higher level of human consciousness. What looks like chaos on the outside is actually a form of divine order; if you can learn to see chaos as ‘magic-in-progress’ your perspective will automatically shift and transform in service of healing and growth.
But I like to offer very practical tips in my work to help you move through your life with a sense of ease and grace. Here are my Top 5 Tips to maintain a spiritually balanced and aligned perspective in times of stress.
1. Remember that life is long and your ancestors went through challenging times, too.
In my practice I find a lot of reassurance in knowing that I am not the only one who has struggled through difficult times. I reflect on my grandmothers, both of whom lost their children, their homes, and their health at multiple points during their lifetimes. Call upon those strong women in your line and ask them to be there with and for you now, lending extra energetic courage and grace.
2. Pause and breathe during difficult times, and ask yourself what you need in order to manage right now.
So many empaths feel like they are asking for ‘too much’ when they ask for help; we fear being a burden to others. But you have every right to support yourself and, where possible, give yourself what you need in order to feel supported, nourished, and loved in this moment. Do you need a day off from work? A hot salt bath or massage? A kind word? Or just ten minutes alone? You’ll be surprised by what your soul really needs to feel better and you’ll be inspired when you realize how well equipped you are to meet your own needs!
3. Take a minute.
This has become a fun hashtag in my community! Because yes – sometimes you need a damn minute to think, process, heal, and clear energy. When we are young we often try to respond fast and accurately even if we haven’t yet processed enough information to make an informed decision. But as we age we learn the gift of the Sacred Pause, as I like to call it. The breath. The space to breathe allows you time for reflection. Have you ever overreacted to something in the moment and wish you had taken a breath in order to respond more mindfully? Me too! Create the space for yourself without apology. Better to delay and respond accurately, from the heart, and with love.
4. Ask for help from your spirit guides. You have a team waiting to assist!
Your spirit guides exist. You may never have seen, felt, or directly heard from this Spirit Team as I like to call them. And in my experience they have a strict policy of non-interference in human affairs unless you specifically ask them to intervene. So ask! Again, empaths have a tendency not to want to take up too much space or ask for too much help, even from the spirit world. I have learned to ask for help and receive it with gratitude. When you pray or ask for help, surrender the challenge to Spirit and watch as events unfold in an effortless way without your stress, suffering, or assistance.
5. Learn to entrain yourself to the frequency you wish to embody.
I teach my students to identify Soul Mentors – people who naturally embody the qualities or gifts you seek. And entrain to their frequency, meaning connect to their energy flow and attune to the vibration they emit. I have a friend whose mother is, to me at least, the epitome of grace and generosity. Everyone is welcome at her dinner table, and she is an endless fountain of helpful advice and good wisdom. I sometimes tune into her frequency when I feel stressed and at my wit’s end. I ask myself, what would she do in my position? When you answer that question you entrain to that frequency and begin to emit a similar light. It’s like long-distance mentoring!
I hope these tips help you navigate uncertainty with grace and see more of the beauty in your life, even and especially when it seems hidden from view.
