America. It is the only place where miracles not only happen, but where they happen all the time.

Thomas Wolfe

As we come together to celebrate the day and pay tribute to our heroes and honor our heritage, let us not forget those who are less fortunate. Let us promise to foster the feelings of compassion and inclusiveness because together we can strengthen the bond that holds our nation together.

I am an American, free born and free bred, where I acknowledge no man as my superior, except for his own worth, or as my inferior, except for his own demerit.

Theodore Roosevelt

When the last firework lights up the sky and the echoes of the celebration began to fade, let us not put a hold on the spirit of Independence. Let us carry this spirit with us throughout the year and promise to not only enjoy the festivities but to also understand the true meaning of these celebrations.
